Vote 'NO' on Measure H and Stop 14,000 CARS a DAY from being ADDED to our Rocklin Streets and Neighborhoods
A 'NO' vote on Measure H will stop 14,000 cars a day from dumping onto the streets and neighborhoods of Rocklin. Find your neighborhood on the map below and see how you and your children will be impacted by the pollution, traffic and quality of life that 14,000 cars a day will bring to our city :
Park Ave, highlighted in red, runs thru the center of our city. Other Streets, like Crest Ave, with houses lining it will be used as short cuts. If you think you have traffic on these streets now, imagine another 14,000 cars a day.
14,000 cars a day will roar by Senior housing at Casa De Santa Fe and Villa Serena. 14,000 cars a day will fly past Twin Oaks elementary school, Breen Elementary School, Granite Oaks Middle School, Rocklin High School and Twin Oaks park. When people bought homes in this area I doubt if any of them realized that they would be living or have their children’s school next to an expressway.
The neighborhoods of Whitney Oaks, Springfield, Sunset Heights, The Highland Park development, and San Marin Development will see the effects of traffic gridlock with an additional 14,000 cars a day traveling through their once serene neighborhoods.
Clearly the intent of Valley View Parkway is to move thousands of cars across the already congested streets of Rocklin. Not only will this road have a negative impact on people living in our city, but building this highway will greatly harm the irreplaceable natural resources within Clover Valley affecting the wetlands, oaks, wildlife and ancient cultural sites that appear in every part of this valley.
The building of this road does NOT benefit the citizens of Rocklin but is a cross-town link between Sierra College Blvd and Highway 65.
Tell the Rocklin City Council to REMOVE THE VALLEY View PARKWAY FROM THE ROCKLIN GENERAL PLAN.
